Our ambition
Social impact means sustainability with people in focus. We respect and protect people across our value chain. By 2029/30, we will complete 100 actions that contribute to lasting social impact.
How we work with social impact
The IT industry relies on global supply chains involving people across the world. This creates both an opportunity to raise standards and a responsibility to act. We are committed to respecting human rights, labour standards, and health and safety throughout our value chain. Our work is guided by the UN Guiding Principles and the OECD due diligence guidelines, and we foster an inclusive, safe workplace that supports wellbeing and fair opportunities.
We set clear expectations for our suppliers, assess risks to people and act first where the risk is highest. We report identified risks and impacts openly and track how effective our actions are. Where our influence is limited we join peers to increase our collective leverage. We respect and protect people, and we turn that commitment into action through one hundred actions by 2029/30 that contributes to lasting social impact.
Targets for social impact
- Complete 100 actions contributing to lasting social impact across our value chain by 2029/30 (baseline 2019/20)
Results and impact
We continuously review and improve social aspects in our value chain through our risk-based supplier due diligence process, which includes activities such as factory audits and trainings. By combining our in-house knowledge and local expertise, we identify areas for improvement and follow up corrective and preventive actions in close cooperation with suppliers. We train both factory workers and management on sustainability related topics, such as labour rights and health and safety, to strengthen knowledge and raise self-awareness.
Internally, we regularly measure and monitor key HR and workplace indicators, such as diversity, inclusion, employee engagement, and other metrics, to create a safe and inclusive work environment.
Our work on social impact aligns with applicable legal requirements such as the CSRD and the Norwegian Transparency Act (Åpenhetsloven), and we are preparing for upcoming regulations like the CSDDD. We publicly report on our processes and progress in our Annual and Sustainability report and Responsible Supply Chain Report:
